At a noticed Board of Supervisors meeting on April 13, 2013, the Board voted 3 to 2 to approve SGI's request to rezone a 112 acre parcel from Woodland Conservation to Industrial zone.
This will allow SGI to mine this parcel after obtaining all necessary permits and Conditional Use requirements that may come out of a future Conditional Use hearing to be conducted by the Township.

The Fairfield Sesquicentennial Committee is sponsoring a guided tour to commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the Battle of Fairfield. Walk the grounds where the Battle of Fairfield took place. View the Battlefield from both the Union and Confederate perspectives. The tour is June 15th and is $36 pp, package includes: Guided Tour, Transportation, Limited Edition Medallion and Book “ Fairfield in the Civil War”.
